Riverdale: 5 Reasons Archie Should Be With Veronica & 5 Why It Should’ve Been Betty

Created to serve as a love interest for Archie Andrews, she is portrayed as a smart, talented, sweet, tomboyish yet beautiful girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is portrayed by Lili Reinhart on Riverdale and Khushi Kapoor on The Archies. Prince Philipp’s grandmother, Princess Margarita, was Prince Philip’s elder sister and the Duke of Edinburgh paid many visits to the family home, Langenburg Castle in southern Germany. Then, he was given a seat alongside senior members of the royal family, including the Duke of Kent and Princess Beatrice.

In one story, it was revealed that an ancestor of Archie once fell in love with an ancestor of Cheryl’s back in Scotland. In another story, she decides to join a band titled “The Sugar Girls”, (a spoof of the popular band “The Spice Girls”) because Ginger Sugar had quit the group. In most stories, Cheryl behaves in a way that reflects her wealth and upbringing. She is very proud of her wealth and occasionally squabbles with Veronica over who leads the more extravagant lifestyle. She can be selfish and manipulative, sometimes plotting to lure Archie away from Betty and Veronica.

Do Reggie and Veronica get together in Season 5?

He has been there for Betty throughout all of her ups and downs, including helping her defeat Donna and Bret. This broke Veronica’s heart and led to her having to put on a smiling face and pretend they were still together just so news of the unexpected break-up didn’t ruin the last week of school. But once she started dating Archie, despite their obvious passion for one another, a number of things began to go wrong for Veronica. During the party, Archie becomes overwhelmed and runs out. He later talks with Reggie who accidentally tells Archie about his kiss with Veronica.

During visitations, Veronica notices that Archie is sitting awkwardly. A result of the beat down he received from the Ghoulies, unbeknownst to Veronica. Archie claims that he’s just sore from working out, though she doesn’t believe him, especially since he’s also missing his shoes. However, Archie has an excuse for this as well, claiming that the Warden took them along with all his other clothes.

And while she admittedly loves Toni, she’s loved Jason her entire life. Toni refuses to allow their relationship to end, asking if there’s anyway Cheryl can be with both her and Jason. Cheryl replies that there’s only one way, and that’s if Toni joins the Farm, which she does.

Our Varchie prayers are answered during the S3 finale…

Obviously, not every boy and girl who are friends need to become a couple, but Betty did end up developing romantic feelings for Archie. While his relationship with Ronnie seems to be based more in chemistry than anything else, his relationship with Betty would be based on loyalty and friendship. Getting on Hiram’s good side would take a little more than smiling at dinner, and helping grandma with her chores. Archie is young, stupid, and naive, and he wanted nothing more than to be accepted by the father of the woman he loved. Did he do things he shouldn’t that got him in huge trouble?

While carving pumpkins at Thistlehouse, Toni tells Cheryl that it’s time to bury Jason after she’d been promising for weeks they would. Cheryl wants to postpone the burial until after Halloween, but Toni presses her into doing it today. Cheryl settles and agrees TSDates to bury Jason on the Blossom family plot on the grounds of Thornhill, though she warns Toni Jason won’t like this. And when they return, they find a doll sitting on the couch. Cheryl claims it’s the doing of Jason’s ghost, who’s mad about them burying him.

Once the team is gone, Archie and Veronica remain behind to discuss the future of the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were supposed to inspire the town, and Riverdale was supposed to rally behind the Bulldogs, but no one comes to their games. In that case, Veronica tells Archie that she’ll work on getting the town to back the Bulldogs again. Archie simply needs to keep the team motivated in that time.

Mädchen Amick as Alice Cooper

Instead of exploring a Barchie relationship in any real way, the show simply made them not made for each other without ever delving into the why. It is an expected outcome considering that Archie appeared to be seeing what Betty meant to him at the end of the senior year. He wrote a song about her and seemed to be falling in love with her. After all the time apart, it would only make sense that all of their pent-up feelings would bubble over into the intense physical displays that ended up happening between the two.

Barchie deserved a more nuanced relationship

Veronica explained that not only was she and Archie still friends, but that the gift was purchased prior to their break up. Following her parents’ open house, where Nick nearly raped Cheryl, Veronica returned to the Pembrooke with Cheryl, Josie, Archie, and Betty. Archie asked where Nick was in that moment, but Cheryl instructed him to put his cape away because the Pussycats had already saved her. Nick was a monster, and she suspected that this wasn’t his first time. Though, Betty assured Veronica that she was not responsible for Nick’s actions.

With this, both he and Veronica realizes that their relationship is over. Archie is later met with a welcome home party, which consists of all his friends at La Bonne Nuit as Veronica sings on stage. Archie seems to become overwhelmed by all his grief and suffering, taking off right in the middle of Veronica’s performance. She informs him that attorney McCoy worked it out with a judge and Archie is a free man. She asks where to pick him up, but Archie has no intentions on coming home. While Sheriff Minetta may be going to prison, Hiram is still free.

Betty thought this was good news, however, Veronica revealed that her father had not only purchased the drive-in from jail, he had hired FP and the Serpents to trash it and decrease the property value. She then put forth the notion that he might have hired FP to do other jobs, like go after Jason Blossom as payback against Clifford Blossom. She wanted the truth and volunteered to aid Betty in her investigation, no matter what was revealed. At The Pembrooke, Veronica sat with Betty as Polly gave her statement toSheriff Keller of the days leading up to Jason Blossom’s death. Later, in the student lounge at school, Betty discussed Polly’s dilemma with the group, in which the Coopers wanted her but not the baby, while the Blossoms wanted the baby but not her. Just as she asked Betty what she thought, however, Alice entered the lounge, demanding to speak with both her and Betty.
